 | Visnujana Swami / Hansadutta -- Los Angeles Temple Studio Recording In the early 1970's ISKCON Los Angeles built a professional recording studio in a building across the road from the New Dwarka Temple. Srila Prabhupada recorded many bhajans and kirtans in this recording studio. This tape has studio bhajans by the famous Visnujana Swami who was the leader of the Radha-Damodar Travelling Sankirtan Party who distributed Prabhupada's books by the millions all over the USA in the 70's.  | Delhi Pandal Kirtans and Bhajans In the 1970's Srila Prabhupada and his "Dancing White Elephants," his American disciples, took India by storm. When the Indian's saw Srila Prabhupada's American disciples taking to Krishna consciousness so seriously they were startled. They once again began to look at their own spiritual roots more seriously. One of the main preaching methods for ISKCON in India was to hold huge pandal programs in big cities. This tape contains live recorded kirtans and bhajans from one such pandal preaching program.

This one Disk has replaced at least 20 casset tapes. and is so nice I can put it on in the morning and it will play all my favorits non-stop, all day long, without turning over or changing tapes. And the sound Quality is very nice also, no tape hiss, just clean sounding Bhajana's and Kirtans.Read less

Of course sitting here in 2012, it's easy to be critical of the sound quality of what were live rudimentary recordings of temple kirtan, but the energy and devotion still come shining through - I always think the best recordings of kirtan come complete with the sounds of a dog barking, laughing children or passing traffic, which drift off the street through the temple door! As a chronicle of the early days of kirtan in the west, it can't be beaten. So if you buy this huge collection of kirtan, don't expect 2012 production values - just get absorbed in the glory of Hare Krsna!Read less

Read more I can't claim to be any sort of devotee, but this is a collection of bhajans, kirtans, and lectures/classes that melted my stone-hard heart 40 or even 45 years ago (in the case of the Brahma Samhita from the Radha-Krishna Temple album, that haunted me for nearly 4 years before I heard the maha-mantra). I can't even begin to express my thanks that someone cleaned up the old tapes and transcribed them onto a DVD-A disc, so few of them still play or even exist.Read less
